House Fire

June 17, 2008

While returning to the station from the first house fire near the village of Shepherd, Station 1 and 3 were called to an address on Blanchard Road in Lincoln Township for a structure fire. Station 2 was moved up to Station 1 for second call. The first arriving unit found a two story wood frame structure with heavy smoke showing from the back of the house. The first attack crew made entry into the structure for suppression and was faced with heavy smoke conditions. The fire seemed to be in the ceiling at the time of entry. Once the fire was under control on the first level, a second team made their way upstairs to the second floor where the fire was found to be in the walls. Once the walls were opened up the fire fire was brought quickly under control.

 

House Fire

June 17, 2008

Station 1 was called to an address just outside of the village of Shepherd for a structure fire, Station 3 was called to the scene for manpower. Arrival of Engine 9-10, it was found a two-story wood frame structure with light smoke showing from the roof. Upon entry into the house the fire was found in the attic area over the the upstairs bathroom. With the ceiling pulled down, the attack team was able to get a quick knock down of the fire. The crews spent some time on scene for overhaul and the fire was contained to the attic space over the bathroom.

 

Mutual Aid for Alma Fire Department

June 14, 2008

Station 1 and 3 were called by Alma Fire Department for water and manpower for a two story structure fire in Forrest Hill. When Tender 9-2 from Station 1 arrived on scene with Alma heavy smoke was coming from the structure. Rescue 9-11, Tender 9-2 and Rescue 9-7 with a total of 10 personnel assisted Alma and St. Louis Fire Department with this house fire. 

 

Car Fire

June 13, 2008

Station 1 was called in the early morning hours of the 13th for a car fire. Arrival of E 9-10, it was found the vehicle had rolled over in a ditch and was fully evolved. Nobody was found in the vehicle. The crews spent some time putting the fire out and then upon returning to the station spent time cleaning themselves and equipment form the mud that they had collected on the themselves while fighting the fire.

 

Car Fire

June 12, 2008

 

Station 1 and 2 were called out to Millbrook Road in Chippewa Township in the morning of the 12th for a car fire near a garage. Arrival of E 9-10, it was found that the owner had put the fire out with a garden hose. The crew of E 9-10 finished hitting hot spots.

 

Mutual Aid to Deerfield Township Fire Department

April 24, 2008

Stations 1 and 3 were called to Wing Road in Deerfield Township for mutual aid with water tenders, engine and manpower for a structure fire that also caught the surrounding woods on fire and also damaged some nearby structures. STTFD was one of five departments and the DNR from Harrison that were on scene that burned approximately 5 acres. This fire was one of several grass fires in Isabella County on April 24th.
